Also note that the title of this message topic gives "de" and "ch", which
are not detailed as "German" and "Chinese" in the body. However you listed
"French" in the body but not "fr" in the title.

The sentence "examples are shown in French" because they are refering to
screen snapshots on the French version.
But as these are images most probably hosted on Commons, may be those
snapshots could be localized by adding optional messages for the Commons
filename to be localized.
The default could then be changed (and so the translated message in
plain-text could indicate another language than French, for the effective
language in those screen snapshots).
However I don't know if your survey tool allows changing those images
(there are also probably some constraints about their size and rendering
quality)
