Hello all -

Thank you for the help thus far in the translations of the Offline Projects
page!

I realize I should have prioritized a few of the other pages in this
grouping beyond the landing page, for those interested in contributing:
* About Offline:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Offline_Projects/About_Offline
* Content Development:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Offline_Projects/Content_Development
* Content Library:
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Offline_Projects/Library/OpenZIM_Content_Library
* FAQ: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Offline_Projects/Offline_Help

Of course, all the other pages are important too, but these are top :)

Thank you again!
Jessie

Subject: Translation Request: Offline Projects pages
To: translators-l at lists.wikimedia.org

Hi Translators!

There has been a big push recently on work within Wikimedia to create &
distribute offline projects relating to Wikipedia to extend reach into those
areas of the world which lack consistent access to Internet. Much work has
been done in this arena in English: resulting in lots of pages about the
project almost exclusively in English.

Recently, progress has been made in creating a selection of offline articles
for use in schools from the Spanish Wikipedia, and an Offline Portuguese
version is also in discussion. As such, it would be great to help
facilitate these language projects through the expansion of the Offline
Projects page on meta: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Offline_Projects

Casey went through and added the navigation template to the pages, and it
would be incredibly useful and helpful to expand upon the languages in which
the information regarding this project are offered. All languages are
eagerly welcome, but *Spanish & Portuguese* specifically are requested.

Like almost all our wiki-pages, the timeline is open-ended, but it would be
ideal to get the Spanish & Portuguese versions done by the *end of June*:
prior to the Ibero-American
Summit<http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Ibero-American_Wikimedia_Summit_2011>.

Thanks so much for your help - please do reach out to me with your questions
(and/or if you are interested in broader involvement with the offline work!)
-
Jessie
